The village has an unusual concentration of 18th and 19th century architecture with 45 significant buildings, including the Federal-style Old South Congregational Church designed by Asher Benjamin, the Federal John Skinner House, the Greek Revival Windsor House, the Gothic Revival Italianate Post Office designed by Ammi Young.
