This 19th-century mansion overlooks downtown Springfield, with views of Main Street, the rapids on the Black River, and the locations of early industries. It is now a museum and gallery with exhibits of primitive portraits by 19th-century artists including Horace Bundy, Asahel Powers, and Aaron Dean Fletcher; pewter; Bennington pottery; and Joel Ellis dolls and toys made in local factories. Three rooms also display work by local artists. There are changing exhibits and educational programs for adults and children.
