Most buildings in South Woodstock, an early industrial village, date from before the Civil War. It’s prosperity is reflected in stylish Federal and Greek Revival buildings, including a number of handsome brick houses, the 1825 school that was turned into a Grange Hall, the impressive 1839 Greek Revival South Chapel, and the 1848 Perkins Academy.
