Plymouth Notch is the birthplace and boyhood home of Calvin Coolidge, 30th President of the United States. The village is virtually unchanged since the early 20th century. The homes of Calvin Coolidge’s family and neighbors, general store, church, cheese factory, and 1924 Summer White House office have been carefully preserved, and many of the buildings have their original furnishings. Coolidge was sworn in as president at the family homestead in 1923 and is buried with seven generations of his family in the nearby cemetery. Twelve buildings are open to the public as well as the surrounding grounds and gardens.

A National Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site is part of a statewide system of historic sites owned and operated by the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation.
