A memorial to Joseph Smith, founder of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints. The monument was quarried in Barre and is the largest polished shaft of granite in the world. The visitors center has exhibits of paintings, sculptures, and personal possessions of Joseph Smith and his family. There are also walking trails on the 360-acre grounds.
