| Hartford Village Historic District Hartford This old mill village on the White River had a tannery, sawmill, woolen mill, and factories that made chairs, farm implements, and boxes. Although the mills are gone, still remaining are the old houses, some commercial buildings, the handsome Federal style Second Congregational Church built in 1828, and the public library, given to the village in 1893 by industrialist Ephraim Morris. |
