One of the nation’s oldest and best-preserved state capitols, this 1859 structure features newly restored interiors that exemplify the best in Renaissance Revival design. Original furniture, gaslight fixtures, and other mid-19th-century furnishings enhance the appreciation of a large collection of paintings of Vermont’s most notable political and military figures, as well as a large collections of Civil War flags and related items.
