The Stowe Historical Society maintains the one room restored Bloody Brook Schoolhouse located next to the Helen Day Art Center. It is representative of an early 20th C district school. In the Akeley Soldiers Memorial Building is located the Society's library and exhibits of 19th and 20th C decorative arts, clothing, household furnishings, tools, photographs and memorabilia. Late 2008 or early 2009 the Society will have a new home in the 1878 West Branch School which will be moved next to the Bloody Brook School.

Hours and Admission: History Room Tuesday and Friday mornings, by appointment or by chance. Bloody Brook School: May- November viewing daily. Entrance by appointment.
