Williston Village Historic District
Thomas Chittenden, the first Governor of Vermont, was an original settler of Williston. The district includes a concentration of Greek Revival and Federal buildings constructed during the 19th century when the communitys economy was dominated by agriculture. The Town Hall (1842), the current town hall (originally a church, 1860), and the Old Brick Church (1832) are built of soft red brick with foundations of redstone, common to many 19th-century buildings in Chittenden County. |
