The Gallery displays the nineteenth-century collection of paintings and sculptures purchased by Horace Fairbanks. Albert Bierstadts 10x15' masterpiece, The Domes of Yosemite, creates a focal point for the Hudson River School landscapes, European genre scenes and copies of the old masters. The Athenaeum was recently designated a National Historic Landmark. Saturday hours are 9:30 to 4:00. Admission free, donations welcome.
