A few miles south of Shaftsbury, buildings in the village of Shaftsbury Center range from 1760s houses to tourist motor courts of the early 20th century. Important structures include the Gov. Jonas Galusha House, some outstanding Federal houses, the 1840s Greek Revival Academy, the Baptist Church, and Town House.
