Larrabee’s Point Historic District
West Addison

Larrabee’s Point, purchased by John Larrabee in 1787, was one of the most important early ferry landing and commercial sites on Lake Champlain in the late 1700s and early 1800s. An imposing stone warehouse was built in 1823, just as the Champlain Canal connecting the lake to the Hudson River was opened. Much trade flowed in and out of this site until the coming of the railroad in 1849. A ferry still runs to Ticonderoga, NY, from here.
